I’ve heard you can go blind from this
but I decided to stare at the sun,
after…
behind my eyelids,
darkness broke
into overlays and auras ultraviolet
quivering
around a green corn moon,
bristles of dog hair fear rising, chasing solar filaments until the orb acquiesced
and drifted back into darkness,
behind my eyelids,
and after all that
I didn’t even bother to go
blind
So I, of course, had to stare at that picture for a good minute. As I only read the first line. Then I continued to read the rest after I was ecstatic that I wasn’t blind. lol
