relax,
you know,
like it’s easy
to wash away footprints
that have already disappeared,
to sit on this crumbling sidewalk and wonder how much longer
the cement will hold
the blue grey stones in place
wonder
who I can call if I need someone
seriously?
who will I call?
and will they even answer the phone
and if they do
will they care
when the sidewalk sweats
wet
tell me to blow bubbles under water
swim,
press off this cement ,
glide
learn how to walk
and breathe
all at the same time
sometimes air is a scary thing
so yeah I know…
and I know you know
I’m talking about you and me
God
asking you to show me
God
show me how to swim on concrete
God
teach me how to rest, relax
breathe
I will lift up my eyes to the hills, from whence comes my help. My help comes from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
