our hair
splits
under
terrorism like grass
blades
under
desert suns
as Hezbollah winds shriek and
threaten
to display our
bones
for all the world to
see
we call
come help us
to a world
who closes their ears
and pretends…
peace does not grow in
Israel
but…
if an olive grove falls in the valley
and no one hears
it’s echo
does that mean
it was never planted there
to begin
with
