you -dreaming about someone else
me – tracing the arms of a walnut tree until it bloomed
into poetry
i day dreamed about
her,
you know
that girl you thought
you saw in
me
the one who would be
perfect
for your two story home
that little
wash and wear wife…
i could never be
so i walked away
not because
i didn’t love you
because
Oh, how i did
but simply, because i wasn’t
her
i was the one
hiding
outside your dream
whispering
to leaves of pages
as they turned past
us
the girl who waved
goodbye
with a pen in her hand
the one
you couldn’t
see
Astounding ❤️

Beautiful poem Kae! The tragedy you describe happens too often. In the end your poem is one of liberation as the women declares who she really is. I want to dance as she names and discovers her true self.☺💟

Exactly:)… I wait on Him and He guides… often barefoot in nature… in quiet… I hear Him speak… and when He encourages me to write… I do:)..

I’ll have to try that 🙂 thanks for the tip. Shutting out the distractions does help for sure.
