What do you see in Charlottesville?
By Kae Bucher
Please…
What do you see-
in those blue eyes of his?
Do you see
the Blue
Ox Eyed bird
who fears for his nest
as he fights against
extinction?
Or do you see a slave owner
instead?
Please…
What do you see-
when you look at the Jewess?
Do you see
flowing sands
and olive trees
in imprisoned dreams
wandering lost through
holocausts?
Or do you see a Jewish demon
instead?
Please…
What do you see-
upon his black glowing skin?
Do you see
black nails
coming out of coffins
of generations
locked in
bondage ?
Or do you see
a criminal
instead?
Please…
what do you see
in Charlottesville…
do you see
generations of fear
looking out window pains
wanting to be
heard
Or do you only hear the voice
of your own suffering
instead of
pleas?
~When we cannot see the pain in another’s eyes… we fight against humanity’s heart… seeking to kill ourselves one beat at a time .~©Kae
Powerful – thank you for making me reflect.

Well done! Read it while I was at work and it hits deep. In three parts it says so much.

You’re welcome. It’s a simplistic poem but it brings attention to a deep topic. Very well done.
