Uhh… Honey…I ate the cat…

True story..what can I say… where there’s a will there’s a way.  Wait a minute…I think you misunderstood me. I didn’t eat the cat…no…. no… no…I ate the cat’s ears:)  See… all better now?

Why are you looking at me like that?  Wait a minute… do you think I ate Fluffy?
Aw… come on… Seriously!… Look… she still  has both ears:)
This..is for loving… not for eating, silly!
This is breakfast… YUM!

So I went out to garden this morning and while weeding I found some of these.  They’re called Cat’s Ear… or False Dandelion and   have similar antioxidant qualities like  real dandelions.  I lied a little when I said they are YUM…  they are actually kinda bitter … But they are off the hook good for you.  As with any wild herb you want to use caution in how you identify it… and where it is found.   Although these can be used in a variety of culinary ways I would highly suggest you don’t make a huge salad out of them to begin with.  As with any new thing we are introducing to our body …slow’s the word.  You want to introduce it slowly… maybe a nibble here… a nibble there… to make sure you don’t have any allergic reaction or anything. When I was a kid I was allergic to everything… allergy shots once a week… but I can eat these!  So what do you say… ready to give it a google?…:)

  1. That is so neat! I’ve never heard of cat’s ears. I thought those were just tall dandelion stalks! What tricksters these False Dandelions are. 🙂 I’m not sure if I’m brave enough to eat one though. XD

(Also glad that you weren’t eating literal cat’s ears. 😂)
